Maritime publisher Seatrade has announced the finalists of its 10th Maritime Awards, ahead of the ceremony to be held in Hong Kong on 23 June. And Hong Kong’s dry bulk specialist Pacific Basin features in no less than four of the 12 categories including Corporate Social Responsibility, Ship Manager, Shipowner/Operator, and Deal of the Year.
Other Hong Kong finalists include Fleet Management for Education and Training, and Ship Manager; Wallem Ship Management is among the finalists in the Safety Initiative category.
Local law firms also feature strongly with Ince & Co, Reed Smith, Stephenson Harwood and Wikborg Rein vying for the Maritime Law Award and Ince & Co, Stephenson Harwood and Watson Farley & Williams in the running for the Ship Finance Award.
However, it may prove premature to take the champagne off ice just yet. At the last year’s Seatrade Awards Pacific Basin was nominated in five categories but walked away with just on award. Fleet Management was nominated for three awards last year but ultimately left empty handed.
