We are delighted to take this opportunity to reproduce a request from Hong Kong’s Transport & Housing Bureau to enlist companies from within the Hong Kong maritime community to take part in this summer’s internship scheme.
Today’s students will form the lifeblood of Hong Kong’s future maritime community. We very much hope that you will help them on their first steps toward a rewarding career.
I would like to seek your assistance to distribute the attached message in respect of the upcoming Maritime and Aviation Internship Scheme (Summer 2018) (the Internship Scheme 2018) under the Maritime and Aviation Training Fund (MATF) of the Transport and Housing Bureau, HKSAR Government to colleagues/staff responsible for human resources management in your firm.
2. The Internship Scheme under the $100 million MATF has been operating since the summer of 2014 i.e. the same year when the MATF was launched. The objective of the Scheme is to provide our younger generation with early exposure to maritime and aviation sectors. Under the Scheme, the Fund will contribute 75% or $6,000 of the monthly honorarium paid by the participating companies to the student interns for an internship period up to three months. More than 30 companies in the maritime sector participated in the Scheme last year and engaged about 155 students.
3. We are now inviting companies to join the Internship Scheme 2018 and would like to have the participation of your firm this year. If you or your colleagues/staff need clarification or further information, please feel free to contact me at 3509 7266 or my colleague, Miss Connie Wong, at 3509 8140. You can also leave a message at email@example.com. Relevant information is available on the websites of MATF at www.matf.gov.hk and Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board at www.hkmpb.gov.hk.
