The waiting is over. Asia’s most important gathering of maritime and logistics professionals across the world begins today (Sunday) the first day of Hong Kong Maritime Week. The event of the week will be the Asia Logistics and Maritime Conference (23-24 November) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Monday 20 November is your last chance to register online for ALMC 2017. Do so now before it is too late: http://www.hktdc.com/ncs/almc2017/en/s/part-details.html
Here are some reasons why you cannot afford to miss out on ALMC 2017.
The Hong Kong Trade and Development Council has brought together nearly 70 leaders in the international maritime and logistics sectors to offer their insight to 2,000 delegates from home and abroad. At a time when many challenges and opportunities are confronting these industries, the timing of ALMC 2017 could not be better.
As in previous years, the 13 sessions will cover key developments, from the Belt and Road Initiative to online shopping; from container shipping to Halal logistics, ensuring there’s a programme for all sectors of the maritime and logistics industry.
To maximize networking opportunities for participants of ALMC, an exhibition is staged alongside the main conference, while one-on-one business matching sessions are arranged exclusively between exhibitors and the conference participants. More than 120 companies will exhibit at this year’s conference.
One man who can’t wait for ALMC 2017, to open is Kerry Logistics executive director Deepak Saxena. Kerry Logistics is a sponsor of ALMC 2017:
“ALMC is setting the expectation bar so high each year. Hong Kong being the preferred Maritime hub in ‘Asia’s world city’ combined with talented Maritime and Port professionals as speakers, flavours the overall rich experience of this platform.
“I am looking forward to productive and solution based coverage of industry challenges and new available products. Kerry Logistics is very proud to be associated with this platform as sponsors.”
Representing hundreds of professionals among the shipowners and ship managers who will be in attendance this year, the managing director of the Hong Kong Shipowners Association, Sandy Chan exclaims:
“This year, the Hong Kong Maritime Week focuses on building Hong Kong’s reputation as a major international maritime centre and raising public awareness of the economic importance of Hong Kong’s maritime and port industries.
“ALMC 2017 will be the flagship event among the many conferences, forums and seminars, covering a wide range of topical issues for the global maritime community, such as the Belt and Road Initiative, logistics and dispute resolution, shipping markets, and shipping-related engineering, technology and e-commerce.”
Another important sponsor of ALMC 2017 is the international shipbroking and shipping intelligence provider Clarksons Platou Asia HK. Managing director Martin Rowe surely speaks for all the high value-added services providers in attendance this year when he says:
“Once again Clarksons Platou is delighted to be supporting ALMC and Hong Kong Maritime Week in 2017. These showcase events serve to highlight Hong Kong’s position as Asia’s premier maritime centre and English speaking gateway to China, perfectly positioned to take advantage of mega trends in Asian shipping and logistics such as Belt & Road initiative.”
